The World’s Best Bar Dead Rabbit NYC comes to London for a short 7 day sprint, serving up their famous Irish Coffee during UK Coffee Week.
You can try the famous serve at The Bloomsbury Club during the nationwide coffee festival. From 10th– 16th April, this is the only place in the world, outside of New York, where you’ll be able to try this legendary Irish-American fusion drink.
Made with Irish whiskey (Powers Gold Label), hot filtered coffee, Demerara sugar syrup and whipped heavy cream floated on the top with freshly grated nutmeg.
The secret to the drink? Dead Rabbit’s Jack McGarry told Punch Drink it’s all down to two special factors: 1. Temperature – 75 degrees stops the coffee from having a burnt, metallic taste. 2. Glassware – the teamed, tulip-shared glass shows the layers of delicious dark coffee, whiskey and sugar, beneath that layer of rich cream.
The guest appearance ties in with UK Coffee Week, a nationwide festival celebrating everything coffee. The event also raises funds for the communities which grow coffee. Bloomsbury Club is therefore donating £2 from each Irish Coffee and sending it directly to Project Waterfall, which brings clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities around the world. Drinking for a good cause, we like it!
